    Good Afternoon,

Has anyone had the chance to read The Alliance News yet? If not, click on this link and have a read:-

    http://www.thealliancepsp.com/Alliance_of_Foot_Heath_News.htm

Keep reading, its interesting reading....especially after the paragraph in italics. Its interesting to note that one of the Directors of this organisation is also the Director of The College of Foot Health Practitioners. If you interested, run the Directors name through HCPC Podiatry register - see if there is a match?

Your comments on the The Alliance News would be interesting to read?

    Its Saturday :D

Here are some DIRECT quotes from The Alliance News"

".... Universities are training as many overseas students (that will return home immediately after their training) as they do for the home market."

Interesting statement this, where is the evidence, published research to support this statement? Does this mean that each University that trains Podiatrists, in each yearly intake of new students, of those 50% of each class is made up of foreigners coming to the UK to study Podiatry and then to return to their home countries?

With reference to Local Anaesthetic in The Alliance News, the direct quote is as follows "...but only a percentage of registrants are actually qualified to do this and an even smaller percentage actually carry out such work."

Once again no mention of published research to support this statement. So what is the exact percentage, where is the published evidence to support this statement?.

Here is another direct quote from The Alliance News:-

"....Examination of the HPC fitness to practice pages demonstrates that the ‘risks’ deemed to require regulation are largely illusory – using a works computer for other purposes in work time, taking unauthorised time-off, using offensive language, or failing to keep proper records may not be ethical - but this kind of petty misdemeanour hardly justifies the cost of organising the regulatory hearings, and is not going to fatally injure a patient – ever! This kind of nonsense diminishes the regulator as much as the perpetrator..."

Interesting that the authors of The Alliance News suggests that failing to keep proper records will not result in fatally injuring patient. I do not even know where to begin with that statement......

"...The public are hardly aware of podiatry, and if it disappeared overnight the public would hardly mourn its passing, even if they noticed..."

Question then is, why is one of the authors of The Alliance News, who is also one of the Directors of The College of Foot Health Practitioners, training folk to do the same work as Podiatry.....

Here is the link to the Companies House website, where it provides the names of the Directors of The Alliance of Private Practioners/ The Alliance of Private Sector Practitioners. Interesting to see if the same names come up on the HCPC Podiatry register...

...off to find more "ingredients" to STIR the pot.....:D

David, if what you have stated in earlier posts that you are used as an expert opinion for the HCPC, is correct, then you would be aware of the HCPC policy, that organisations mentioned on the HCPC register maybe "..promoting the Podiatry profession........their role maybe complimentary to the HCPC". See the below link:-

Question is, on reading the Alliance News, do you think the organisation is indeed promoting the Podiatry profession and complimentary to the HCPC?

    :D

My Expert Witness practice is limited to providing expert podiatry opinion for the Courts in civil law. Each case is instructed by solicitors and involves either clinical negligence or personal injury.

I do not have anything to do with the HCPC, apart from being registered with them of of course.

I neither have the inclination nor the time to spare to look at the Alliance News. As I thought I made clear in the other, similar thread, the Alliance are a legal UK organisation. I have absolutely no idea why you are introducing this topic again.

David, I am not questioning their legality. Of course they legal, anyone can register a legitimate company. I was just thoroughly amused to read the Alliance News. How their name The Alliance of Private Chiropody and Podiatry is still in existence (not dissolved), and also known as the Alliance of Private Practitioners, yet the authors are quite happy to give their opinion regarding the Podiatry Profession and HCPC, with statements that have no evidence based references. Yes, I did run the Directors names through the HCPC register and I say no more........:bash:

    To set the record straight….

The Alliance of Private Sector Practitioners is registered at Companies House, UK. It fulfils the role of a professional body for private sector practitioners – including Podiatrists and Foot Health Practitioners.

    Status: Active
    Date of Incorporation: 22/02/2002
    Country of Origin: United Kingdom
    Company Type: Private Limited Company
    Nature of Business (SIC):
94120 - Activities of professional membership organizations

The company registered the change to its present title at Companies House on 19/6/2008.

Membership is comprised of practitioners from all training backgrounds.

The Alliance is run by practitioner directors, two of whom are HCPC registered.
The Alliance is listed on the HCPC website as a professional body and interacts as necessary with all regulatory agencies.

The Alliance absolutely refutes the misinformation, misdirection, inuendo and false statements made by Lovefeet on this website. Lovefeet’s research is flawed and incorrectly reported. Postings by Lovefeet have been totally unprofessional and should be (are) unacceptable to genuine professional people. Such postings do nothing but damage to us all.

    John Falkner-Heylings BSc(Podiatric Medicine), Podiatrist.
Alliance Chief Executive Officer and Vice President
