A small North York clinic seeks an on call chiropodist. Flexible hours, nice people. New grads welcome!

How would "on call" work for a Chiropodist? I'm not managing emergency care like birth and delivery. Do you pay for on-call hours even if not called in? Terms of payment? Actual details?

I am looking for work but don't take on "sketch" jobs. Please provide more details.

    Thanks,
    Sarah

I'm a UK qualified podiatrist, who has come out to Canada on a 12 month under 30's working visa as was too late to take this years cocoo exams.
I know I cant work as a 'Chiropodist' until I have passed the exams, I have spoken to a private 'Chiropodist' working out here and he didn't seem to think there would be a problem me working as a foot care assistant for the year rather than getting any old job. Is this correct? I'm in the Toronto area and need to find a job asap. Would appreciate any info you may have. Thanks

Seeing as most "podiatry Assistants" have no regulated or acredited programs here in Canada I would think you would be more than qualified for this.

    Good Luck

    Hi Graham
Do many Canadian private practices use podiatry assistants? or would you really be looking at patients in care homes? Sorry new to Canada, could do with doing some shadowing to pick some brains and see the differences compaired to the UK. Sorry to be a pain but how would insurance work out? I'll get looking today.
    Thanks

Many US trained podiatrists use multiple assisstants. I am not sure how many Canadian trained or us UK trained Pods do. I do not at the moment but who knows. The assistant can only work with the Podiatrist on site. As long as the Pod "sees" the client Insurance issues are covered I believe.

I'm in Ottawa. You are welcome to come up and spend a day or more and see how it all works....or not!

    Thanks for the heads up.
I'll email round and see if anybody would love an English assistant to brighten up their days. Thats kind of you to offer, Ottawa is a bit far for me right now, but if I'm up your way, I'll be sure to take you up on the offer. Thanks again for your help.:D
